Purple Pegasus Publishing Announces Writing Contest: Stories of Migration, Food and Sense of Place
In a time of constant migration, many people live in places far removed from their hometowns. This contest is intended to honor the struggle immigrants go through as they build new lives, and with a focus on rediscovering foods from home in their new habitat.
We are seeking stories that tie together immigration, memories of food and sense of place. Feel free to interpret the theme of the contest in any way that suits you personally, as long as it is a heartfelt story that is rich in sensory detail. We want stories the reader can really taste. You do not need to be an immigrant yourself to enter this contest. Maybe the immigrant in your story is your grandparent, your neighbor, or your childhood best friend.
This contest is open to writers of any nation.
Submission should either be originally written in English or translated into English.
Submit one piece per entry. Enter as many times as you want.
